Susan J. Templeton is the founder of Stafford Wells Advisors, an Illinois-based financial planning and wealth management firm serving individuals, families and businesses. Templeton oversees the management of the firm and chairs the Investment Committee.

Templeton has more than 20 years of experience in managing investment services firms, including overseeing two mutual fund companies – The Newton Funds and the William Blair Mutual Funds. Prior to founding Stafford Wells Advisors, Templeton was a partner with QIS Advisors, a quantitative money management firm serving institutional and high net worth investors.

She is a board member of the Leader Council for the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls and serves on the investment committee for the Visiting Nurse Association (Chicago). She is a member of the Advocate Charitable Foundation Planned Giving Committee, and a former trustee of the Village of Oak Brook Police Pension Plan.

Templeton is a regular speaker for a variety of organizations and business conferences. She has spoken to the Chicago Booth School of Business, DePaul’s Center for Financial Services Wealth Management Conference, Investment News Magazine conference, Chicago Think Tank, Chicago CEO Roundtable and others. She is also a co-author of The Book for Entrepreneurs by Entrepreneurs and is the former personal finance columnist for Today’s Chicago Woman magazine.

Templeton earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver and her Master’s of Business degree from the University of Chicago.
